he
church has only three parking spaces, all of
which are normally reserved for church staff
but may be used for pickup and drop-off
during Old Sloop Coffeehouse performances, the Old Sloop
Fair and other such
occasions. These spaces are accessed
by the driveway off School St. that is
directly across from Stone Barn Lane, next
to the Law Building. Please note that
the driveway and parking area are shared
with our neighbors. Please do not
block the driveway, please park only on the
church side of the parking area, and please be
respectful of our neighbors!
-
There is metered parking
on School Street and Main Street and other
downtown streets. Meter rates and time
limits vary. The meters nearest the
church cost 25 cents for each half hour,
accept only quarters, have a 5 hour limit,
and are checked until 6:00 pm. The
metered spaces are almost always occupied in
the summer when the weather is good.
Hint: there are almost always spaces
available Sunday mornings, and the Rockport
police do not currently issue parking
tickets while worship services are in
progress at the downtown churches.
-
There is free parking
on the streets just out of the downtown area
on School Street, Main Street, High Street,
and others. Many of these spaces are a
short walk from the church. These
spaces are also in high demand at peak
tourist times.
-
There is parking for
Rockport residents on T Wharf and in the lot
near Town Hall just off Broadway, both of
which are a short walk from the church.
Do not park in resident-only areas unless
your car bears a Rockport parking sticker.
The Rockport police are zealous about
defending resident-only parking.
-
Rockport offers a Park
'n Ride service during the busiest
times of the year. The Park 'n
Ride lot is adjacent to the transfer station
on upper Main Street, about a mile from the
downtown. Parking is free, and the
Cape Ann Transportation Authority offers an
inexpensive shuttle service between the Park
'n Ride lot and the downtown. See
details
here.
